Kansas Simmental Association presents James Taylor with the Betty Schalles Pioneer Award
After his many years of raising Simmental cattle, the Kansas Simmental Association has awarded James Taylor the Betty Schalles Pioneer Award. This award, presented yearly by the association, recognizes the important contributions made be the recipient. James, who has been a American Simmental Association member since 1979, and a Kansas Simmental Association member since 1980, has made many significant contributions to the breed through Taylor's Black Simmentals, including helping get the Progress Through Performance Simmental show used at the Kansas State Fair and the breeding of Black Irish Kansas.
Black Irish Kansas is in top 2% for carcass EPD's!
We all know that Black Irish Kansas is a great calving ease and maternal sire, but he is also a true meat sire too! Recent data from the American Simmental Association's carcass merit program indicates that his carcass EPD's rank in the top 2 % of the breed, with high accuracies. So if you are truly looking for a beef animal, Black Irish-sired sons and daughters fit the bill! Semen is available through ABS Global.
